Federal Research Center "Krasnoyarsk Science Center SB RAS" invites everyone to the Museum of Geology of Central Siberia GEOS to the exhibition of scientific photography "Nature of Science". At the opening, guests of the event will learn about the idea and concept of the event, listen to short popular science lectures by Krasnoyarsk scientists, and they will have a possibility to ask questions to the organizers of the scientific photo exhibition.

Scientists explore the world around us in all its diversity. Physicists study the basis of the physics foundations: matter, its decomposition into components: waves, particles, fields. Modern chemistry transforms available substances and compounds into new materials, useful for humans. Biologists deals with details of living things and features of ecological interactions. Information technology makes it possible to create digital copies of complex systems and understand the principles of their operation.

The life and work of scientists cannot be imagined without expeditions, collection of samples and samples, devices that measure the physical parameters of the environment, complex experiments. At the exhibition "Nature of Science"  some areas of research by scientists conducted by the Krasnoyarsk Science Center SB RAS will be presented in terms of their interaction with nature.

At the opening and accompanying events, visitors to the exhibition will not only see what the life of a real scientist looks like and get acquainted with photo reports, but they will also listen to lectures of specialists on topical issues.

The exhibition will be opened by Egor Zadereev, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Head of the Scientific Communications Department of the Federal Research Center "KSC SB RAS". He will tell how nature and science are connected, and what complex but exciting tasks the Krasnoyarsk scientists are faced with.

One of the five finalists in the nomination "Science Photographer of the Year" Anastasia Tamarovskaya, specialist of the Scientific Communications Department of the Krasnoyarsk Science Center, co-curator of the exhibition "Nature of Science", will describe the features of taking pictures in such an unusual area.

Marina Smolnikova, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Head of the Molecular Genetic Research Group at the Research Institute of Medical Problems of the North, will tell what opportunities genetics and personalized medicine open up for humanity and why they are critical technologies.

Olesya Makhutova, Doctor of Biology, Professor of RAS, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Biophysics SB RAS, will tell how scientists conduct detailed field studies to understand the complex interactions occurring in nature and find the most useful food sources for humans.

During the post-lecture discussion, guests of the event will be able to ask questions not only to the speakers, but also to the authors of some works of the scientific photo exhibition.

The exhibition is organized as part of the events of the decades of science and technology announced in Russia and the All-Russian Festival of Science "Science 0+".
