Krasnoyarsk Research Institute of Agriculture is concerned with the following main research areas:

development of scientific research and acceleration of the introduction ofscientific achievements into production in the branches of the agro-industrial complex;

development and improvement of methods of seed selection and breeding using physiological, genetic, biotechnological, immunological approaches and assessment of the grain quality;

creation of high-yielding stress-resistant varieties of cereals, leguminous, fruit and berry crops, production of seeds of higher reproductions of agricultural crops;

development of advanced technologies for the production of plant breeding products based on the rational structure of crop areas, scientifically based cropping system, system for treating and protecting soil from erosion, integrated plant protection from pests, diseases and weeds, highly efficient use of fertilizers and equipment,providing appropriate recommendations, flow charts and regulatory documents;

development of new types of machines and their working parts;

development of recommendations for the improvement of management in the agricultural sector;

improvement of a scientifically based farming system in Eastern Siberia.
