40th anniversary of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of SB RAS
10 September 2021 г.
Oksana Pavlovna Taran, Doctor of Chemistry, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, congratulated the staff:
"The Institute was organized in 1981 to solve important problems concerning the development of the Krasnoyarsk Region and chemistry of mineral and organic resources. Since its foundation, the Institute has intensively developed such areas of research as metallurgy, hydrometallurgy and processing of organic resources.
Today, we face new challenges. In connection with the adoption of a carbon border tax, in our country decisions are also being made to decarbonize the economy. It is very important to manufacture products with lower emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Therefore, our focus is on natural renewable organic raw materials.
For the Krasnoyarsk Region, this is wood chemistry and processing of forest waste. Being perspective, it is developing at a rapid pace throughout the world. This topic dominates at European and Asian scientific and practical conferences. European countries have taken a course towards hydrogen energy. Decarbonization and hydrogen energy are associated with rare earth metals and hydrometallurgy, and our institute is also involved in these fields.
A separate big task at the time of the foundation of the Institute, 40 years ago, was to find qualified employees. At that time, scientists were invited from different cities of the country: St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Moscow. The teams and staff formed back then are still successfully developing technologies for processing mineral and organic resources.
Now there is an influx of young people at our institute. These are mainly graduates of the Siberian Federal University and M.F. Reshetnev Siberian State University. This is due to the fact that they began to work more intensively with young people: sending them to conferences, supporting with grants and in other ways. Some young and efficient scientists are now paid better than gold mining companies.
On this day, I would like to wish my colleagues, especially our senior comrades, first of all, health for many years, creative efficiency and success. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for significant contribution to the establishment of the Institute. I wish young employees to be more enthusiastic, not to be discouraged when encountering difficulties, as well as interesting work and projects, meetings. I would like to wish all my colleagues to see their results to be put into practice. "
