By the order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Alexander Arturovich Shpedt is appointed Acting Director of the Federal Research Center of the Krasnoyarsk Science Center of SB RAS, to stay in the position of Acting director since January 17, 2020 until the approval of the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Alexander Arturovich Shpedt is Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, being a specialist in the field of soil science. He is engaged in the development of remote sensing technologies to create an automated information system for the inventory and monitoring of agricultural lands. He is the author and co-author of more than 180 scientific publications, including 7 monographs, a patent for an invention, as well as 7 study guides.

Prior to this appointment, he was the Deputy Director for Science at the Research Institute of Agriculture. Alexander Arturovich is a member of the dissertation council in the speciality “General Agriculture” at the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University, being the laureate of the State Prize of the Krasnoyarsk Region in the field of vocational education and professional training.
