Young scientists of FRC KSC SB RAS have received awards named after outstanding Siberian scientists

Молодые ученые ФИЦ КНЦ СО РАН стали обладателями премий имени выдающихся сибирских ученых
The Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences announced the results of the competition for young scientists to award prizes named after outstanding scientists of SB RAS. Major fundamental works of young scientists, such as monographs or series of articles, were nominated for the competition. Prizes are awarded for scientific research that makes a significant contribution to the development of natural, technical, humanitarian, medical and agricultural sciences. The purpose of the award is to support young talented scientists conducting important research with valuable scientific results.

Two young scientists of the Federal Research Center "KSC SB RAS" became the winners of the awards.

Prize named after L.V. Kirensky for the work in the field of physical sciences was awarded to Aksenov Sergey, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, a senior researcher at the L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics SB RAS for a series of scientific materials "Investigation of the phase of topological superconductivity in quantum wires". In his research, he obtained a number of significant results in the area of topological superconductors.

Ilya Petrov, Candidate of Biological Sciences, researcher at the V.N. Sukachev Institute of Forestry SB RAS received the A .B. Zhukov award for his work in the area of forestry and dendrology, namely for a cycle of scientific studies "Mountain forests in a changing climate: the impact of climate change on the radial growth and vital status of woody plants in the mountains of Southern Siberia." In his work, the scientist assessed how ecosystems would behave in the new conditions of a changing climate.
