Scientists from the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Krasnoyarsk Science Center of SB RAS told the Yenisei TV channel about their developments in the field of processing plant raw material, in particular, in processing wood. Researchers break it into its constituent substances, such as cellulose, lignin, bitumen, and they are looking for their industrial application.For example, owing to the research conducted by scientists of the Krasnoyarsk Science Center, drugs, vanillin and motor biofuel can be obtained from trees. The scientists have explained how to do this to the journalist Alexander Prudnikov in a new issue of the program "What and How".
