An agreement was signed on the creation of a unified air quality monitoring system in Krasnoyarsk

21 May 2021 г.

Подписано соглашение о создании единой системы мониторинга качества воздуха в Красноярске
Today in Krasnoyarsk, a four-party agreement has been signed on the creation of a unified system for monitoring the state of atmospheric air in the regional center. The document was signed by the Regional Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Nature Management Pavel Borzykh, Director of the Institute of Computational Modeling of SB RAS Vladimir Sadovsky, founder of the environmental project “Krasnoyarsk. Sky ” Igor Shpekht and leader of the Krasnoyarsk party “Greens” Sergey Shakhmatov.

The parties joined forces to create an open database of environmental monitoring systems by integrating systems operating in Krasnoyarsk. This database will include data from the KrasEcology regional monitoring network, the scientific community and the measurement results of public sensors. The system will provide information on the concentration of fine dust (suspended particles PM2.5) in the atmospheric air, as well as meteorological parameters, namely atmospheric pressure, temperature and air humidity.

Currently, the creation of a unified network is at its last stage: the sensors of public figures are undergoing a calibration stage. After that, the combined information on the state of atmospheric air will be open to everyone on the website of the Krasnoyarsk Science Center of SB RAS air.krasn.ru.

The data of the unified network will also be useful for scientists to study the air condition in Krasnoyarsk.

“A lot of joint work has been done. The new resource will allow us to bring the fragmented received data of all the monitoring systems to a common denominator. It will be convenient for Krasnoyarsk residents as well, since a single platform will provide information of the current environmental situation in the city. In addition, this information will be useful for the regulatory authorities to perform supervisory activities, ” emphasized Pavel Borzykh.
