According to the regional media, the Federal Research Center "Krasnoyarsk Science Center SB RAS" received a grant from the regional budget in the amount of 50 million roubles for the development of elite seed breeding, gardening, nurseries and animal husbandry.

The development program is implemented by the KSC branches - the Kuraguinskoye, Mikhailovskoye and Minusinskoye experimental production facilities. The program is designed for three years. Its financial support from the regional budget and own funds of the Center amounts to more than 220 million roubles.

Last year, the research center won the 50 million rouble grant from the Regional Ministry of Agriculture which was intended for the first year of the program.

The plans of "Kuraguinskoye" and "Mikhailovskoye" are to increase by 2023 the volume and area of elite seeds of agricultural crops, to preserve the livestock of agricultural animals, as well as to increase milk yield. The experimental farm "Minusinskoye" will preserve the area of laying perennial plantings, increase the production and sale of seedlings, as well as that of fruit and vegetable products.

For this, the farm will buy agricultural machinery, organic and mineral fertilizers, fuel, breeding heifers, and plant protection products. In addition, the money will be directed to the establishment and maintenance of perennial fruit and berry plantations.

“It is important to support agricultural science so that specialists, and practical scientists could work with modern zoned varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops and fruit and berry plants. Timely renewal of varieties is a guarantee of a high-quality yield of grain, forage crops, potatoes and vegetables. This is the basis for further successful development of agriculture in the region, " said the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Trade of the Krasnoyarsk Region, Alexander Pokhodin.

The activities of agricultural scientific organizations in the Krasnoyarsk Region have been supported since last year. The funds are spent on the development of the material and technical base for the creation of scientific projects, production and sale of agricultural products. The regional budget covers at least 70% of the program costs, while the maximum grant size should not exceed 75 million roubles.
