On September 20, the opening of the XX International Symposium "Complex Systems in Extreme Conditions" was held  in Krasnoyarsk in the Krasnoyarsk Science Center of SB RAS.

The Symposium will cover the problems of the functioning of complex systems (physical, chemical, biological, ecological, medical, agricultural, socio-economic, technical, informational, linguistic, cultural and art systems) at different levels of the organization in the following areas:

1.    Complex systems: methods of description and modeling.

2.    The risk of degradation of complex systems in extreme conditions.

3.    Biophysics of cells and tissues.

4.    Complex technical systems in extreme conditions.

5.    Ecological systems: description and modeling.

6.    Analysis of processes and modern technologies in medicine.

7.    Quantitative methods for describing and evaluating art systems

Within the framework of the Symposium, a satellite Conference “Environmental Monitoring. Methods and Approaches ” will be held with the support of SETAC. (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry). The Conference will address environmental testing methods with a particular focus on biological tests at various levels of organization.

The opening began with a welcoming speech by Vasily Filippovich Shabanov. On the first day, the following reports were presented:

Andrey Anatolievich Savchenko, Professor, Research Institute of  Medical problems of the North "Regulatory mechanisms of the phenotype formation and functional activity of dendritic cells."

Efim Yakovlevich Firsman, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the Institute for Complex Analysis FEB RAS (Far East) “Transition from bistability to quadrostability in population models: mathematical patterns and meaningful consequences. From local bistability to space-time heterogeneity ”.

Felix Nikolaevich Tomilin, Researcher at the Institute of Physics SB RAS "Living systems from the view point of quantum chemical calculations".

Konstantin Vasilievich Simonov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Computational Modeling SB RAS "Static analysis and interpretation of data from the GRACE and GRACE-FO missions for solving problems of environmental monitoring"
